Specialized in shipping, where he has extensive experience both in the audit of financial statements under IFRS and in other assurance services. Extensive consultancy experience in accounting issues and also on organizing and supporting accounting software. His clients range from family businesses to large shipping groups.
Human Resources partner in Moore Stephens from 2004 to 2018, is also responsible for the training of the staff.
As an expert in many software used within the firm and with significant experience in IFRS reporting, he has also developed an automated Shipping IFRS Financial Statements template, through the software tool of Caseware / Caseview.
Description of the seminar:
Introduction and understanding of the Structure and Organization of a Shipping Group including a description of departments of a Management Company.
Brief description of the Terms and abbreviations used in Shipping, so that the general Maritime environment will be better understood by users.
The main topic of the seminar will be a general presentation on Shipping Accounting. Specifically, there will be a description of the structure and use of the various accounting groups used by a Shipping Company. Emphasis will be given to the most characteristic accounting groups and there will be presented practical examples of handling these standard “Shipping” accounts.
Prerequisite knowledge:
It is desirable for the prospective attendee to already have basic accounting knowledge.

An accurate connection of the basic accounting concepts with the actual Maritime environment, aiming to the best possible understanding of Shipping Accounting and how it works and is connected with the structure of a Shipping Group.
