1100 – Fire prevention and fire fighting
This course aims to provide training for candidates in fire prevention and firefighting, based on the guidelines of STCW 78/95, Section A-VI/1 and IMO Model Course 1.20. This course covers the requirements of STCW 78/95, Section A-VI/1, Par. 2, Table A-VI/2 on meeting the minimum standard of competence in fire prevention and firefighting. A trainee will be competent to take appropriate measures for the safety of personnel and ship and to use fire appliances correctly. The trainees will also acquire knowledge of fire prevention. 1103 – Personal Survival Techniques
The aim of this course is to meet the mandatory minimum standards of competence for seafarers for safety familiarization, basic training and instruction in personal survival techniques in accordance with section A-VI/1, and as set out in table A-VI/1-1 of the STCW Code. Seafarers employed as part of a ship’s complement, or engaged in any capacity on board ships on the business of those ships, with designated safety or pollution-prevention duties in the operation of the ship shall, before being assigned to any shipboard duties, receive appropriate approved basic training or instruction in personal survival techniques as set out in table A-VI/1-1 of the STCW Code. The course covers the KUPs (knowledge, understanding and proficiency) in table A-VI/1-1 of the STCW Code, and trainees successfully completing this course will gain knowledge and skills to be able to survive at sea in the event of ship abandonment. Return Policy
Each customer has the right to cancel his/her order within fourteen (14) days upon providing access in the course(s) even if they are not faulty in any way, on condition that he/she has explicitly expressed to the other party his/her intention to cancel the purchase within this period of 14 days.
The customer has another 14 days upon expressing his/her intention to confirm the other party (email sufficient) that he/she has deleted any downloaded by them digital training material (if applicable).
As far as STCW Basic Training Courses are especially concerned, kindly note that the total refund, that the customer is entitled to, shall amount to 80% of that initially remitted due to company’s policy for the services already provided in order the customer to obtain access in the course(s) i.e. checking of supporting documents, issuing of credentials, providing of technical support to end-users etc.
When a customer is deprived of his/her 14-day right to cancel an order
A customer is deprived of his/her right to cancel an order when he/she has already activated the login credentials, regardless of the fact that the self-assessment or the course itself has been successfully completed or not.
More specifically, each customer is provided with non-exclusive, non-transferable license for each course in the form of user licenses. These are defined as the unique credentials of end-users to access each specific e-learning course. Hence, it is clarified that each user license shall be deemed to have been used when the user has attended the course (in other words the unique credentials have been activated), regardless of the final self-assessment having been successfully completed or not, or the fact that the user has attended part of the course without completing it.
Courses with practical parts
The courses containing practical parts (Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting and Personal Survival Techniques), require two attestations to be signed. These attestations will be emailed to you after your order:
- Either you sign the provided self-attestation thus making your certificate valid for one (1) year.
- Or when you go onboard, you should have the second attestation signed by either the Master, Chief Mate, Chief Engineer, Second Engineer, or Designated Person Ashore (DPA) confirming practical experience and skills thus getting the final certificate with five (5) year duration.
