Liferafts training

Liferafts are vital means of survival during rough sea conditions, particularly in the event of the vessel beginning to sink. They are specifically made to ensure the safety and buoyancy of the crew during stormy seas, while awaiting rescue assistance. These essential survival tools are standard equipment on all ships navigating the open seas, complementing the presence of lifeboats. Their automatic inflation mechanism makes it simpler to deploy them during a crisis, aiding in swift rescue operations.

This course aims to provide learners with the fundamental understanding, knowledge and skills, in order to be familiar with the operation, launching, inspection and maintenance of liferafts.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

1. Identify the basic features and launching procedure of liferafts.
2. Understand the basic guidelines for conducting drills, involving liferafts.
3. Comprehend maintenance and inspection guidelines of liferafts.
