Life on board has many hazards, and as such, there is an ever-increasing focus on personnel safety by port states, companies, and other interested parties.

Every seafarer on board, irrespective of role or rank, is responsible for his/ her own safety, as well as the safety of their fellow seafarers.

Thus, personal safety starts with proper and responsible use of Personal Protective Equipment.
