Once you complete this course, you will understand the safety hazards and potential health risks associated with operations in cold temperatures. Furthermore, you’ll familiarize yourself with effective strategies to mitigate these risks.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

1. Recognize the importance of taking proper precautions while on board a ship that transits on ice or frigid environments.
2. Identify the symptoms of severe ice-related medical conditions, such as frostbite and hypothermia.
3. Describe the preventive measures to take on board a ship when operating in cold environments to remain safe.
