Certification issuance:

1. For seafarers

The courses are open to all seafarers and prospective seafarers and should be completed prior to employment on a sea-going ship. The certificate issued upon each course completion (one certificate per course), allows seafarers to get their Competence Certificate anywhere, provided that such a successful completion certificate is fully supported and by all other documents required as per STCW code or their National or Vessels Flag Administration requirements. The courses are approved by Liberia and can be used to renew CoC in the following flags:

2. For non-seafarers e.g cruise/yacht non-marine crew

The courses are available to non-marine personnel like cruise ships or yachts non-marine crew and should be completed prior to employment on a sea-going ship. The certificate issued upon each course completion (one certificate per course), allows you to travel in any vessel under any STCW whitelisted flag (PDF file).

Certificate Validity Duration

Upon completion of a course, the certificate obtained is valid for a period of 5 (five) years.


The courses are open to all seafarers and prospective seafarers and should be completed prior to employment on a sea-going ship.


After purchasing this course you shall receive instructions in order to provide the following documentation:

> Seafarer’s book
> Expired or pending to expire certificate

Documents should be received in PDF/PNG/JPG format. You can either scan or photograph them, please make sure that they are legible to avoid any delays. Upon receiving the documents, we will review them and upon successful completion of the review process (please allow for up to 2 working days), you will receive access to the course using the credentials you specified during checkout.

Courses with practical parts

For the courses containing practical parts (Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting and Personal Survival Techniques), the course certificate is subject to the following conditions: a) the e-course can be taken for renewal purposes only, by a seafarer having been previously STCW certified and holding a seaman’s book; b) applying seafarer shall provide either a self-attestation or attestation signed by Master, Chief Mate, Chief Engineer, Second Engineer or Designated Person Ashore (DPA) (if self-attestation cannot be provided due to the reasons of changing the company/vessel) both confirming practical experience and skills. Specific forms for both types of attestations shall be used (will be provided). In case of provision of self-attestation by the seafarer according to the aforementioned, validity of the certificate issued is subject to submission of proof of practical training within one (1) year from the date of issuance of the certificate by the Liberian Registry either by way of attestation as already mentioned (signed by Master, Chief Mate, Chief Engineer or DPA) or in realistic training conditions in a specialized training center; d) All parts of the practical requirements have to be met by the seafarer. If any part of practical training has not been confirmed, the Registry may consider issuance of a certificate but limited to one-year duration; and e) the Liberian Registry may suspend issued certificates if the conditions outlined above have not been met.

The Liberian Registry has approved the STCW Basic Training courses via e-learning by SQLearn, which offer a new experience in the field of maritime training.

1100 – Fire prevention and fire fighting: This course aims to provide training for candidates in fire prevention and firefighting, based on the guidelines of STCW 78/95, Section A-VI/1 and IMO Model Course 1.20. This course covers the requirements of STCW 78/95, Section A-VI/1, Par. 2, Table A-VI/2 on meeting the minimum standard of competence in fire prevention and firefighting. A trainee will be competent to take appropriate measures for the safety of personnel and ship and to use fire appliances correctly. The trainees will also acquire knowledge of fire prevention. 1101 – Elementary first aid: This course aims to provide the training for candidates to provide elementary first aid on board ship, in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code. This course covers the requirements of the 1995 STCW code Convention Chapter VI, Section AV/1, Table A-VI/1-3. On meeting the minimum standard of competence in elementary first aid, a trainee will be competent to take immediate action upon encountering an accident or medical emergency until the arrival of a person with medical first aid skills or the person in charge of medical care on board. 1102 – Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities: This course aims to meet the mandatory minimum standards of competence in personal safety and social responsibilities in accordance with section A-VI/1 of the STCW Code, Table A-VI/1-4. The course is designed to prepare new recruits for life on a ship at sea where they will experience a vastly different living and working environment compared to that if they were living and working ashore. Working on a ship can be a hazardous occupation for the uninitiated. This course will give new seafarers an insight into the various elements of a ship and working procedures on board so that they adjust to the shipboard environment and are better prepared to cope with any unforeseen circumstances. To that extent, this course is planned to make their transition from ashore to a sea career as smooth as possible and provide some understanding of a seafarer’s working environment and the hazards, procedures and safe work practices they will encounter, before they actually step on board a ship. 1103 – Personal Survival Techniques: The aim of this course is to meet the mandatory minimum standards of competence for seafarers for safety familiarization, basic training and instruction in personal survival techniques in accordance with section A-VI/1, and as set out in table A-VI/1-1 of the STCW Code. Seafarers employed as part of a ship’s complement, or engaged in any capacity on board ships on the business of those ships, with designated safety or pollution-prevention duties in the operation of the ship shall, before being assigned to any shipboard duties, receive appropriate approved basic training or instruction in personal survival techniques as set out in table A-VI/1-1 of the STCW Code. The course covers the KUPs (knowledge, understanding and proficiency) in table A-VI/1-1 of the STCW Code, and trainees successfully completing this course will gain knowledge and skills to be able to survive at sea in the event of ship abandonment. Return Policy

Each customer has the right to cancel his/her order within fourteen (14) days upon providing access in the course(s) even if they are not faulty in any way, on condition that he/she has explicitly expressed to the other party his/her intention to cancel the purchase within this period of 14 days.

The customer has another 14 days upon expressing his/her intention to confirm the other party (email sufficient) that he/she has deleted any downloaded by them digital training material (if applicable).

As far as STCW Basic Training Courses are especially concerned, kindly note that the total refund, that the customer is entitled to, shall amount to 80% of that initially remitted due to company’s policy for the services already provided in order the customer to obtain access in the course(s) i.e. checking of supporting documents, issuing of credentials, providing of technical support to end-users etc.

When a customer is deprived of his/her 14-day right to cancel an order

A customer is deprived of his/her right to cancel an order when he/she has already activated the login credentials, regardless of the fact that the self-assessment or the course itself has been successfully completed or not.

More specifically, each customer is provided with non-exclusive, non-transferable license for each course in the form of user licenses. These are defined as the unique credentials of end-users to access each specific e-learning course. Hence, it is clarified that each user license shall be deemed to have been used when the user has attended the course (in other words the unique credentials have been activated), regardless of the final self-assessment having been successfully completed or not, or the fact that the user has attended part of the course without completing it.
